Kanisha and Darryl’s wedding!

Here is the first of several wedding blog posts that I photographed over my late summer/autumn seasons, but I know the love and happiness will shine through as if all of these lovebirds got married just yesterday!!  :)

This particular wedding was back in September, and it was absolutely gorgeous.  Kanisha and Darryl and both just so photogenic, and it was such a delight to be a part of their wedding day!  And for a September wedding, I don’t recall it being such a sweltering blistering hot day where the bridesmaids faint one-by-one, so that’s just another plus for this beautiful day!  ;)  When we first met, Kanisha informed me that they weren’t traditional about not seeing each other before the wedding, so the first thing I thought of was – let’s do a sequence of him seeing you for the first time!!  It turned out just lovely, and I definitely recommend it to future brides and grooms.  :)  Oh, and magical portraits at sunset?  I also recommend those, too…  :)

So, without further ado, I present to you…  Kanisha and Darryl!  So many congrats and wishes for a beautiful lifetime together.  :)

Cash!

This is the first of many many blog posts that I am quite late in presenting to you, but I hope everyone enjoys them as much as I enjoyed photographing them!!

This was one of my very favorite portrait sessions of 2011!!  A three year old’s birthday session at the Great State Fair of Oklahoma??  YES, PLEASE!  We had such a blast.  We started the session bright and shiny early as soon as they opened the gates, and therefore got to have the place to ourselves for the most part!  Cash’s mom Terri had, of course, all sorts of fun ideas and props, and I think she’s going to have some trouble topping the pure fun of this session for next year…  ;)  We tried to get as epic as possible, and I think it turned into quite the success!  But, I’ll stop yapping and let the photos speak for themselves.  ;)

What a fun day!! I can’t believe all the amazing pics you got- what a fun ‘background’!! You are so right, this will be hard to top!

I promise I haven’t fallen off the face of the Earth!

Well, 2011 was absolutely my very busiest year to date.  It was wonderful and complete madness and a great big THANK YOU for all of my amazing clients who helped make it such a fantastic year!  But, regardless, I had been neglecting my family and friends much more than I should have.  So at the end of November, I completed editing for all of my portrait sessions and weddings, put all of the blog posts I needed to create on hold, and my business took the back seat for once.  I decided to officially spend December doing normal Christmas-y family things instead of staring at a computer the length of the day and asking Sonny to wrap all the presents for me, when I know just how much he doesn’t enjoy that job.  ;)

So, needless to say, I had the most wonderful holiday season I’ve had in the past few years.  :)  But now, it’s back to work for me!!  I have completed the task of renovating my blog layout, and I am currently working on renovating my whole entire website at the moment, among all of the other start-of-the-year tasks that need to be completed.  Sonny is diligently trying to convince me that I need to ONLY play Skyrim with him, but I am holding strong until I get all of the necessities finished.  (He’s a bit of a bad influence on me.)  ;)  I have a ton of awesome plans for Juniper Photography in 2012, and I can’t wait to see what all this year brings!

I will be sharing blog posts for all of the AMAZING weddings and portrait sessions I enjoyed the last few months of 2011!  Even though they were quite a long time ago, I still want to share the happiness with you.  So be on the look-out for lots of smiling faces galore!

So, I hope everyone had as fantastic a holiday as I did, and here’s to a most wonderful and happy 2012!!

(And here’s a photo of my kitty, Panama, in hopes that you’ll be more likely to forgive my absence because I got to spend more time with her and she thanks you for it!)  ;)

Ethan!

This little fella might just happen to be my nephew but HOLY COW, is he not the cutest ever!!?  We took a sunset stroll along the bank of Boomer Lake for Ethan’s three month portraits. He was so beyond sleepy, but such a trooper during the session! He didn’t cry or even frown the entire time; just plenty of adorable yawns and sleepy eyes. Then, as we decided to give up and walk back to the car, he fell asleep on my brother’s shoulder and I captured my official favorite photo of my brother ever. :)

I adore the photo below so much.  Just can’t take his eyes off his momma.  :)

I love these pictures! You’re amazing Robyn, but the subjects in this shoot just happened to be amazing too! :)

Maizey!

Everytime I get a call from Terri, I just know that a super fun portrait session will soon follow. :D

She had the super fun idea for Maizey’s first birthday portraits to photograph her eating a miniature cake, and that is now one of my FAVORITE things!  I hope I have many more cake eating sessions in my future.  You can’t tell in most of the photos, but it put Maizey in major distress to get her hands all sticky with icing, and she kept looking at Terri like, “Uhhh, can I get a napkin around here??”  but then she’d turn back to the cake and think “Mmmmmm, sugary goodness.  Must have more.” ;)

Keep an eye out in about two months for Maizey’s brother Cash’s third birthday portraits at the FAIR! Beyond fun. So excited to share those. :D

A squirrel found a bit of cake that ran astray!

I love that the Myers take full advantage of outfit changes!! (hint hint, future clients!) ;)
